After four days in the office, I was able to celebrate the Fourth of July in a way that I had always wished for. Thursday night I was able to pick up my best friend Taylor from the airport. It was nice to have a friend to show the town to and celebrate with.
I discovered Crystal City accidentally... and a fantastic burger place called Good Stuff Eatery.
| Because the Reagan airport has a cell phone smaller than my driveway, I circled the building 7 or 8 times. Honestly I lost count, I just kept circling but I did get to pick up Taylor so all is well. |
| This was one of the coolest places I've ever eaten! Above and beyond a great burger joint! |
Friday we hit the town with the hopes of seeing all the museums, monuments, and sights. Little did we know we would run into familiar faces! We realized that there were at least 12 people from EKU there this weekend. We started the day with learning the ropes of the DC Metro and for the rest of the day trekked the Mall. I always love seeing the history that DC holds and represents. I loved being able to see thousands of people reppin' red, white, and blue on such a special weekend.

| This memorial always holds a special place in my heart. |

| One of my favorite shots |
| My favorite "drum major for justice." |
| My girl Eleanor |
| Mr. Lincoln's dominion |
| Wouldn't have wanted to spend this weekend with anyone else. |
| Mr. Lincoln is well worth the wait |
Our feet were very tired but we were not disappointed at all! Seeing every monument on the mall, every memorial around the basin, and seeing one of my favorite museums (American History) and adding a favorite to the list (the Holocaust Museum). But the best was yet to come.
The next day was the Fourth! I couldn't wait to do something I had always wished for: celebrating our nation's birthday in our nations capitol! Not only did I do that, but I got to watch our nation's past time, but I also got to watch fireworks on the Capitol's lawn. After a very long day full of rain and hanger, we were able to find the happiness and contentment in the lows. here are a few pictures to highlight just how awesome our day was!
| My second Nationals game |
| Got to check out the Free art Gallery, and fell in love. |
| Taylor was fun to take pictures of throughout the museum! |
We only waited about 30 minutes to get in. We were surprised by the acts that were performing. We enjoyed Hunter Hayes, Alabama, and got to see Jack Everly conduct the National Symphony Orchestra. Despite the wet grass, we enjoyed sitting on the lawn and watching the performers and the fireworks going off over the Washington Monument.

It was a fantastic weekend and as much as I would love to give all the details of the weekend I don't think I can. I can't remember all of the awesome things that happened. All I know is that I want to do it again, and the next time I try to I should be able to do it better next time.
Happy birthday America, I had a great time celebrating your special day!
Sincerely,
Michelle
